Are you SURE you want to be a Duke?

Unaware that his family history traces back to the Norman Conquest, James Mountjoy finds himself heir to a dukedom and a major country estate in Cumbria. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the estate has been neglected for forty years, the castle is a burnt-out ruin and the estate is on the verge of bankruptcy. Does he want to inherit the burden, or should he simply walk away?

Rowan, the gamekeeper's attractive daughter, encourages him to tackle the job: "the estate is not land and buildings, it is people". Inspired, he motivates the people to work with him and, despite setbacks, gradually transforms the estate into a profitable and successful enterprise, restoring their pride.
